Nature's Green for Sunday Stamps

A new stencil from Picket Fence filled the bill for the Nature's Green challenge on Sunday Stamps. Green isn't my color, and the only green inks I have are Distress Inks, but I found a palette there. The sentiment is from a favorite Penny Black line, reminding me that I have several stamps with this font and I should be using them!  

 

Sunday Stamps Sketch 236

Lots of layers and sizes for this Sunday Stamps sketch; it provides so many opportunities for designer papers, too.  (The "gingham" photographs blue, but is actually hunter green, like the leaves of the sunflowers.)

Sunday Stamps Squares

Sometimes I'm in a monochrome mood...as with this card for the Sunday Stamps sketch. The papers are from the Soft and Scrumptious paper pad by PolkaDoodles.

Sunday Stamps and a Color Palette

When I first saw this palette for Sunday Stamps, I could differentiate the colors beyond the "reds." It was only when I looked at the designer cards that I could see the robin egg blue.  I found this great Penny Black cling image with poppies just perfect for shades of red. I painted with Distress Inks. 

Sunday Stamps in Neutral

It's Color Challenge time on Sunday Stamps...some colors that I could work with!  I really like neutrals, and the Tilth Floral die from Memory Box was great for using several of the colors in the challenge.  (The only problem: the cardstock doesn't release from the skinny part of the die, even though I cut twice with waxed paper. I spent more time picking out the cardstock than putting the card together.)  "Thanks" is also a Memory Box die. 

Recently, I was on the receiving end of some floral arrangements for two reasons:  surgery and birthday.  The thank-you cards have been on my to-do list for two weeks.  This 5" square card also features a dry-embossed layer. 

Fall Harvest on Sunday Stamps

Often, I skip color challenges because I have trouble working with them.  However, I decided to take on the new Sunday Stamps color challenge.   I also picked an image that is really a stretch for me...a "cutesie" one.  I had great fun with it, however. Her name is Patchwork Pattie  by Sherri Baldy My-Besties Stamps.  The two colors in the orange family are actually different on the colored image; they show much better in real-life.  (I might look for some other "cutesie" images after this!)  

Circle Round for Sunday Stamps

The sketch for this week's Sunday Stamps led me in just a tiny bit of another direction.  And for some reason, I was in the "metallic gold" mood.  On the way back across Oregon this past weekend, we stopped mid-way as we always do, in The Dalles.  I decided I also wanted to visit Joann's for some cardstock colors I needed.  Imagine walking into a sale!  70% off sheets of cardstock and at least 40% off other papers, etc. One of my purchases was a DCWV mat stack that has pages of gold foil.  I used one of those pages for this card and cut the rectangle for the image/sentiment out of gold, as well. 

A Trio for Sunday Stamps

The tiny coffee cup dies determined my theme of "coffee" for this Sunday Stamps sketch. I enjoy using patterned paper from my stash of 6x6 paper pads, and this is the latest addition.  It's Echo Park's "Magical Adventures 2."  The sentiment is from Altenew's "Coffee with a Splash," and the mini cups are from a Sizzix Framelits set called "But First Coffee."  

Sunday Sketching by the Rows

This challenge of Sunday Stamps was a good one for the new "Blush" paper pad from My Mind's Eye.  The papers are a combination of blush, navy, and rose gold foil.  My card is made of a sheet of the foil paper, bordered with the navy. The sentiment, embossed in copper on navy cardstock, is from Inkadinkado and the copper branch is a die from PoppyStamps. 

Sunday Stamps with a Heart

I've made many hearts lately...several for challenges and several for no reason at all!  For Sunday Stamps, I was able to use my new Memory Box set of dies, "Cross Stitch My Heart."  I was able to use the same colors as in my previous post.  The tiny sentiment is from Technique Junkies and the leaf stamp and die are from Mama Elephant. 

Getting Sketchy with Sunday Stamps

Trying to get back into the card-making after a lengthy absence... The Sunday Stamps sketch is perfect for another Christmas card, which has already gone in the mail!

When I decided to use the Memory Box pillar candles die, I knew I wanted more than just the outline.  Removing only one piece on each candle worked beautifully, and the solid red candles provided the perfect background for my often-used "merry" die from PoppyStamps. 

Sunday Stamps -- Shades of Green

The latest Sunday Stamps challenge involves greens of all shades. At least 3 of the greens shown must be featured on the card, with a neutral of choice.

For my card, I chose gold as my neutral--in addition to the white card.  Diecuts in the shiny gold cardstock are layered on an alcohol ink background created by my 9-year-old niece, who loves the AI's, blending solution, and canned air. 

Sunday Stamps in purples

A card with "spring" colors!  We had snow last night, but I know spring will come eventually.  This card for Sunday Stamps features MFT papers, a Memory Box die "Tilth Floral," and a Doodlebug Sprinkle accent.  

Sunday Stamps

I'm still making Christmas cards, although I have all that I need for the year.  This Sunday Stamps sketch makes use of glittery gold cardstock and three Inchies that have been languishing in a drawer for a few years, at least.  The card base is has a bit of a shine to it; the Inchie squares were sponged with SU's Sahara Sand to coordinate with the card.  Tiny snowflakes were cut with a Penny Black die. "Believe" is a stamp from an SU stamp set.  

Sunday Stamps with Mae West

I have many sentiment stamps that I rarely use; often, it's because of the shape of the sentiment.  The Mae West saying is a Rubbernecker stamp.  It worked well with this Sunday Stamps sketch. 

Squared Up with Sunday Stamps

At least there is one "square" on my card for the Sunday Stamps challenge this week. I used the last sheet of this pretty DSP from my Prima pack called "Rondelle."  The die is "Amanda Circle" from Memory Box, and the sentiment is from a stamp set I no longer have labeled. (Precious Remembrance Shop stamp set.)

Two for One

I feel as if I'm running behind, so I was interested to see if I could combine two challenges this time. 

  

When I saw the circle element on the SundayStamps sketch, I thought immediately of the two Die-Versions circle dies I purchased on clearance recently.  From there, I could easily apply the Grey/Yellow color challenge for Less is More.    To add some interest to the solid yellow color, I used some embossing folders for texture.  

Mojo Monday and Sunday Stamps

For the first time in a very long time, I've combined two card challenges: Mojo Monday's sketch and Sunday Stamps' color combo.

Sunday Stamps -- Cottage Colors

Generally, I don't do well with color challenges, but I've been away from card-making for a few days, so I decided to try everything this week. The first challenge is Sunday Stamps.

EDIT:  I thought I had missed the deadline for Sunday Stamps!   I'm not certain where I saw a different date, but the date is Jan. 27, so I'm re-posting this card.

Pink gingham hearts are the feature of my pink and gray card, popped on that dry-embossed layer and accented with "happy."
