Tuesday Card

I was going to deliver this personally on Tuesday, because Chelsea and I were having lunch together.  However, I left it in the car in the parking lot across the street.  So it goes in the mail on Wednesday.  

I'm not terribly fond of this design...the stripes just don't do it for me.  However, it's a completed card, so I'm sending it.   Penny Black image and SU! sentiment.  After I applied the stripes to the card front, I dry embossed everything.  The image was colored with watercolor markers (the color is really more of a cantaloupe shade than the orange).  

Freshly Made Sketches

How to create the "shape" of the Freshly Made Sketch 329?  I chose the Blended Bloom from Stampin' Up, which I colored with SU! markers; I've had the stamp for a couple of years but it had never seen ink.  The sentiment is an old one from Hero Arts.  (Does anyone else have difficulty finding long one-line sentiments? I do, which means banner sentiments are always difficult for me.) 

Wintry Love for a Tuesday Card

Since winter has returned...actually, it's behaving like winter for only the second time this season...I decided it was a good time to post this "cold weather" card.  The faceless image with a winter scarf and mittens is  "Hello Love"  from Unity; "joy" is an old Stampin' Up sentiment.  The background was created with Distress Oxide inks.  I chose this for my Tuesday card.  Chelsea and her family are in the middle of calving season--150 cows.  Last weekend, we had heavy snow and wind for two days, and today it was below zero.  (By the way, we actually got together for coffee last week! We spent 90 minutes talking and enjoying each other's company.)

Sunday Stamps

I'm still making Christmas cards, although I have all that I need for the year.  This Sunday Stamps sketch makes use of glittery gold cardstock and three Inchies that have been languishing in a drawer for a few years, at least.  The card base is has a bit of a shine to it; the Inchie squares were sponged with SU's Sahara Sand to coordinate with the card.  Tiny snowflakes were cut with a Penny Black die. "Believe" is a stamp from an SU stamp set.  

CAS Mix Up

This "CAS Mix Up" is a new challenge for me, and it turned out to be challenging....corrugated cardboard is one of the required elements, but most corrugation is covered with a layer of kraft paper! The elements required in this challenge:  Stamping + Corrugated Cardboard + your choice.

After cutting the piece of cardboard with a label die, I painted it white.  Then I accented the ridges with gold Wink of Stella. The card layer was dry embossed with a brick background and the cardboard piece attached.  Tulips cut with Poppy Stamps' Tulip Fanfare (two sets) were colored with markers and adhered to the prepared cardboard.  The sentiment "always" is an SU! image.

Tuesday Cards again

I've been mailing every Tuesday as I've done for years, but I just haven't been posting the cards. These are the two for this week's mail:  "Love is Kindness" from Stampin' Up!   I really like anything with a newsprint feature.  For this "newspaper," I stamped two additional images and cut them out to stack on the original image for some dimension.  The tulips were colored with SU! markers.  The accent is a strip of dotted washi tape.

Freshly Made in Pomegranate and White

It's time for another sketch on the Freshly Made Sketches blog.

I've used Stampin' Up's "Blooming with Kindness" stamp set and SU's "Purely Pomegranate" ink.

Freshly Made Sketch 132

I've had this "Blooming with Kindness"  Stampin' Up set for about two years, and I didn't use it until today. It fits well with this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  The background layer is the Hero Arts Envelope Pattern stamped in SU's Rich Razzleberry and embossed in the Swiss Dots folder.  Rich Razzleberry cardstock is featured prominently, too.
