Color Throwdown #530

It was catch-up day after church today; I haven't been crafting for a week.  Color Throwdown's challenge is due tomorrow, and I actually found dark pink cardstock (on my monitor, it looks a bit red, but it's pink) in my stash--one sheet.  Recently, I used the Sizzix "Magical Butterfly" die but didn't complete my card; I liked the idea of "shadowing" the pink butterfly with a black one (yes, there is a black butterfly under the pink one) on the gray and white background.  The sentiment is from a mini stamp set from Gina K. Dry embossing of the gray strip and black rhinestones add some texture.

The Month of Hearts -- Double D

I've been making cards with the traditional red, pink, and white, so it was enjoyable to think out of the box with this hearts challenge!  Double D Challenges provided the above mood board, and I chose black and white. The designer paper is from  Bo Bunny pad; the wonky border die is from Kat Scrappiness. Hearts are a Sizzix die, and I layered two ribbons at the bottom with a tiny red heart accent.

Color Throwdown 463

My card-making style leans heavily to the simple; this time, for Color Throwdown 463,  I tried to include some details that would make it just a little more "involved."  The die is from Cheapo (new discovery) and the sentiment die is a Penny Black one.  The embossing folder is a Tim Holtz design for Sizzix.

Freshly Made with Gold

I have a new pack of double-sided 12x12 paper called "Dots and Stripes" from Echo Park Paper Co.  The dots are all gold foil and the colors are rich autumn shades.  (I don't know where the stripes are!)  I chose the burnt orange sheet for this particular Freshly Made Sketches 257.

The two maple leaves are Spellbinder and Sizzix dies, accented with gold pen. "Grateful" is a Penny Black die. This card put me in the mood for some fall cards...the season seems to go by so quickly.

Freshly Made with Dies

Such a simple design...this new Freshly Made Sketch. It provides so many possibilities for a card.

The two die sets I used were SU's Sizzix Banners Framelits and Tim Holt'z Sizzix Scribbles and Splat Thinlits.  There are touches of silver Stickles on the "scribbled" heart shape.

Freshly Made Sketch -- Yellow and Black

The Sizzix Thinlit "Magical Butterfly" is the feature of my Freshly Made Sketches card, which also sports a dry-embossed front with yellow and black washi tape.  The Mae West quotation is an old Rubbernecker stamp.

Love on Sunday Stamps

It's a color sketch for the first challenge of the new year at Sunday Stamps.  And it's Love.

I'm not much of a Valentine person, myself. In spite of that,  I have many heart stamps and a few heart dies.  One of my newest Sizzix set is of hearts of all shapes and sizes.  It worked beautifully with this random heart design.  The cross stitched frame is from Memory Box; "dream" is from Penny Black.  (I just might make some more!)

Tuesday Mailing Plus Christmas

My Tuesday cards this week are doing double duty: I made a dozen more to mail as Christmas cards, one of three designs this year.   They are definitely non-traditional colors, but I've grown to love the  kraft, for some reason.  The tree die is a new one from Sizzix and the sentiment is an old Hero Arts stamp.   Next week, my Tuesday card recipients will get a second Christmas card.

Freshly Made with Poinsettias

A Christmas card....giving in to the inevitable.  The Tim Holtz stamp and  Sizzix die serve well for this week's sketch on Freshly Made Sketches.

The image and the sentiment were colored with markers and spritzed with water before being stamped on watercolor paper.  The poinsettias were die cut twice and popped on foam squares to provide substance to the image.

Freshly Made for Fall

Time for another Freshly Made Sketch, and I've chosen to make my first Fall card.

The designer paper is from Bo Bunny's "Forever Fall" pad and the leaf is from the Sizzix Bigz die, Leaves.  "Blessings" is a Technique Tuesday sentiment.
