Red and Black CAS Watercolor

For this CAS Watercolor card, I chose a beautiful image from Altenew's "Wonderland" set. The Dr. Seuss quote is also found in the set.  I watercolored the flowers with Peerless watercolors and the stems with a watercolor marker.  This is definitely a flower stamp that I will be using again!

A Rainbow for Color Throwdown

Sometimes, I just can't complete a Color Throwdown challenge because I can't figure out how to use the colors.  This one was different!  I went to my Distress Oxide inks and found the colors I used: Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, and Squeezed Lemonade.  From the beginning, I knew that I wanted to create a "stacked" sentiment.  For Happy, I chose Altenew's die and a coordinating stamp. 

Less is More with "Happy" Dimension

I LOVE this Altenew die!  It has two coordinating stamps, too, but I've never used one.  The die creates a perfect dimensional sentiment from stamped and watercolored flowers. "Happy" was diecut three times: watercolored flower, blue, black cardstock  that was then layered for the dimension.  The background layer was cut with a wacky stitched rectangle, which was then popped up with foam tape.   I do believe this is CAS and dimensional for Less is More #383.  The card will be delivered to my young friend later this week, when we meet for lunch.  She'll be receiving an early birthday gift from me at the same time.  

Freshly Made with a Popped-up Sentiment

I tried something new on this card for Freshly Made Sketches, something I've admired on other cardmakers' creations. The die is from Altenew; the flower image is from Stampendous.  After stamping the flowers, I heat-embossed the images and colored with SU! markers. I die-cut three additional words, two white and a black,  and adhered them to the underside of the colored one. Finally, I used narrow strips of foam tape to pop "happy" even more.  I definitely want to try this technique again, but I'll probably use lighter colors for the stamped images so the die cut is more obvious.  

Color Throwdown 451

The green isn't exactly the same shade, but I did like this piece of designer paper with the pink and green theme for Color Throwdown 451.  "Happy" is an Altenew die.
