A Valentine with Beads

With this post, I'm going way back in my crafting past to my first Yahoo group, Pennywise Arts.  The challenge is to create a Valentine with beads....generally microbeads that were the primary product of PWA.  If you visit the blog, you can see many beaded creations of PWA members. Then you can visit the website to see the products and other goodies.

I've covered contemporary heart shapes of designer paper in the new and unusual "bubble beads," pretty iridescent glass beads that are the largest of the beads sold by Suzanne of Pennywise Arts.

Chestnut Theme on Gingersnap Creations

"Read" is the Chestnut Theme this month on Gingersnap Creations. My card features a stamp of artist Winslow Homer's "The New Novel."   After coloring the image with watercolor markers, I covered the surface with ultrafine clear microbeads from Pennywise Arts.  I like the 'sugary' effect...click on the smaller image for a close-up.

My card features the famous...and my favorite...ultrafine clear microbeads.   Although I have a huge variety of microbead colors, I almost always reach for the 'sugar' when I create a microbeaded item.  Actually everything on the face of this card is a Pennywise product:  the background is a collage comprised of items from the "Ephemera I" collage sheet designed by PWA member, Michele Aiello-Zendejas (Swing Shift Designs).   I printed the collage sheet, cut out the items and 'collaged' them on the card front.   Then I chose the image from Lovely Ladies I and covered it in clear O'So Sticky double-stick tape and ultrafine clear microbeads. Capitulating to the season change -- with beads

I've never looked forward to Fall, because that means Winter isn't far behind. However, I have grown to love the colors of a beautiful autumn season. My first fall card features ultrafine microbeads, my favorite size of clear beads to use. Since Suzanne at Pennywise Arts started carrying them, I've never been without. The leaves were stamped and colored with Copic markers; then I stamped paperback double-stick tape with the leaves, cut them out and applied the sticky to the colored leaves. After that, I smooshed them into ultrafine beads for this crystal sugar effect. I'll admit it: I can't stop the seasons!
