Color Throwdown 545 as Guest Star Stamper

It's amazing how the color palette colors change, depending on the printer.  However, my raspberry is a little brighter.  I pulled out my Twinkling H2O's for the painting, just to achieve the brightness that I wanted.  For this challenge, I purchased digi stamps from Vera Lane Studios on Etsy.  The kraft card front is further accented with kraft DSP featuring Live, Love, Laugh, and Life.  Color Throwdown 545

Tuesday's Cards

I realize I haven't posted my Tuesday cards lately; I've been sending them, though, every Tuesday.Today, I mailed these two cards.  They feature digital images from Power Poppy of beautiful "parrot" tulips and a sincere sentiment.  The poppies were colored with markers and the blossoms covered with Glossy Accents.  (This particular layout was CASEd from a Power Poppy card by Dawn Burnworth, which I found on Pinterest.)  

Less is More with One Layer and a Stem

The challenge for Less is More this week is for a one-layer card featuring a stem.  I chose a digi image of two poppies that I painted with Twinkling H2O's---a medium of which I have more than a hundred little pots stored away in a fishing tackle box.  The sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

Sweet Sunday Sketch with a Purpose

Generally, I don't have a purpose in mind other than completing a challenge when I make a card for Sweet Sunday Sketch or any other challenge.  This week is different, however.  Our youngest son and his wife celebrate their second wedding anniversary and I needed a card!  Everything came together with the digi sunflower from Power Poppy.  Yellow and gray were the theme colors of the wedding two years ago; I made around 200 thank-you cards in these colors.  This sunflower image worked perfectly.   

Tuesday Cards

I'm stuck on red, black and white, I guess.  However, I realize that this is a color combination I would choose over any other.  The poppy image is a digital one from the Two for Tuesday blog, where digi images are free.  (I notice there hasn't been a post since February.)  The sentiment is another great one from Penny Black--I have quite a collection of PB sentiments in this quirky font.

I tried something with the popped-up individual blossoms:  I spritzed with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist and immediately regretted it.  There was no "un-spritzing" possible, however.  The card on the right shows the rather "milky" effect, which is most obvious in direct light.

Freshly Made Digi Coneflowers

Every so often, I purchase a digi image that really works!  This is an example, from Wax Fruit Co. and it's of one of the favorite flowers in my garden---the coneflower.  The sketch is #183 of Freshly Made Sketches.  

Free Embellishments Make the Card

A recent purchase from Funkie Junkie Boutique came with Linda's cute little packet of "freebies" -- in this case, some pink fiber, two diecut and inked butterflies, some lace, and a beautiful "floral" button.  Today, I decided to use another of my digital 4x4 "coaster" designs from by digital paper's Etsy shop to make a 5x5 card.   I added the freebie pink fiber, beautiful button, and one of the pink butterflies to finish the card.

Going Digital

My three cards today feature digital "stamps"---which really aren't stamps at all, but are digital images that look like stamps.   They are three of the four "Pretty Blossoms" by Hero Arts.

Color Throwdown with 4 colors

The Color Throwdown  was definitely a challenge for me this week. I have never used this many solid colors on a card!  The patterned paper is from Memory Box; the little girl is "Audrey,"  a digi image from Firecracker Designs and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.
