Pink and Brown on Theme Thursday

Theme Thursday is another challenge I haven't participated in for awhile; I love this particular color combination.

This wonderful feathered chapeau fits the theme of "Hats" on Theme Thursday this week.

An older tag of Tim's

"Tag" is Theme Thursday's challenge this week.   Somewhere in my mess, I found a printout of a tag Tim Holtz did in a previous year.  His featured a snowman, but I decided on the reindeer, which was stamped, embossed and cut out of grungeboard.   I have all the supplies for this tag...unlike the tags that Tim did this year.   The most difficult part:  getting the grungeboard pieces to adhere to the crackle finish of the tag.  I used glue dot, foam dots, and finally resorted to Glossy Accents on the foam dots, with a weight on top overnight.

Theme Thursday --- ATC with Flowers

The theme on "Theme Thursday" is a familiar one; I love having an excuse to use flowers on something. For my ATC, I die cut the flowers with Tim Holtz's "Tattered Florals."

Theme Thursday ... Faces

"Faces" is the theme for this week's "Theme Thursday,"  I couldn't stop with just one, so I have a card and an ATC with a face on each.

It's Blue

My favorite color is the choice of Theme Thursday this week:   Blue.     I love this Asian angry ocean image from Dover, which I've 'shimmered' with some Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist and Frosted Lace Stickles.

Just 2 for Theme Thursday

"2" is the magic number for Theme Thursday this week, and it's the theme of my ATC.

"This week’s theme is “2 things”!    Create something with 2 things this week – 2 words, 2 people, 2 butterflies, 2 shoes, 2 flowers,  etc.!    Use collage images, rubber stamps, fancy paper , embellishments or any other art supply to make your creation!   Digital art is also welcome!    Interpret this theme any way you like!  You can create an ATC, tag,  4 x 4, card,   skinny or whatever you fancy!"

"Three Things" --- Theme Thursday

"This week’s theme is “3 things”!    Create something with 3 things this week – 3 words, 3 people, 3 butterflies, 3 hats, 3 flowers,  etc.!"

Theme Thursday's challenge for me involved a little girl from Chicks 57, a paper flower and a key---all on pink.

Oak, Ash & Thorn --- Autumn

I'm really not a fan of Autumn, but it's only because it means summer is over....and winter is on the way.  "Autumn" is featured on Theme Thursday this week, and I've chosen one of my very favorite face images from Third Coast:  Oak, Ash & Thorn.   The image is stamped on art board with a rainbow ink pad.

Theme Thursday ... Children

With "Children" featured this week on Theme Thursday, I enjoyed pulling out a microscope slide and Memory Frame to create a pink and black piece.  The image is from Digital Collage Images.  By changing out the short ribbon for a long one, this piece can become a pendant necklace.

It's Theme Thursday...with Vintage Tag(s)

I was pleased to see the 'vintage tag' challenge on Theme Thursday, but I couldn't stop with just one tag!  One is a little more feminine than the other, although both feature little girls from Digital Collage Sheets.

Something Round

Theme Thursday is a blog challenge I haven't done for quite awhile, but this week it's "Something Round." My 4x4 features a lovely doily image from Hero Arts, glittery Stickles, and a darling little girl wearing a big bow and holding a bouquet of flowers.

Torn Paper for Theme Thursday

Here's a challenge I haven't participated in for a long time:  Theme Thursday.   However, this week, the theme is "Torn Paper," and I decided I could do that!   Some Pearl Glimmer Mist adds a shimmery touch to the whole piece.

Black and Red on Theme Thursday

Black and red just might be my favorite color combo.  For Theme Thursday this week, my black and red entry is a 4x4 featuring art words and a collage image from Suze Weinberg's out-of-print book.

Miniature Art on Theme Thursday

Tiny art! Very tiny art!  Theme Thursday's challenge this week is 'Miniature Art.' Creations can't be larger than 3 inches by 3 inches.   This tiny file folder is 2x2 3/4 inches, which is just perfect for a miniature image from Altered Pages and a  flower embellishment.

2x4 for Theme Thursday

In my everyday world (my husband works at a lumber mill), a '2x4' is a piece of wood.  On the Theme Thursday blog, it's the measurement in inches of a piece of art.   This is my Asian-themed 2x4 (backed by a beautiful piece of Washi paper).

Spring can come at any time!

I am so ready for spring....no, for summer!   I want sunshine and warm weather! Theme Thursday is celebrating spring this week, and this is my contribution.  The little girl is from Free Chicks 57 Vintage Children and I manipulated it on Adobe Elements. Butterflies are Hero Arts digital images.

"Art Words" for Theme Thursday

The theme at Theme Thursday is 'art words' this week.  I have several rubber stamps with 'art' as the theme, and this Stampers Anonymous one is a favorite.  The background is one introduced at Ranger's booth at CHA....layers of dye inks applied with the foam applicator and then stamped with a background stamp 'inked' in dye ink and Perfect Pearls mist. (The link should take you to Wendy Vecchi's video.)    Collage images from Digital Collage Images.

With a Flourish on Theme Thursday

There's just something about a tag....and some flourishes.   On Theme Thursday this week, the challenge is to create with a flourish.   I've chosen one of those famous shipping tags, my favorite color family of Distress Inks (Broken China, Faded Jeans, and Dusty Concord), and a big flourish, a Philosophy tag,  and other images, all  from Tim Holtz,  to accent the collage images from Digital Collage Sheets. (The collage images were adhered with the tape transfer technique.)

Flowers for Theme Thursday

This beautiful vintage image is from Dezina World....a freebie, as I recall.  Theme Thursday is featuring 'flowers' this week. The tag was cut from textured cardstock and embossed with a large rose image.
