Less is More with One Layer of Stencils
Time to catch up again after being gone for almost two weeks... I'll start with the dreaded One Layer Card for Less is More. (I've found that I usually enjoy the challenge of a OLC, even though it doesn't always work for me!) The stencil is one from The Crafter's Workshop and I used Distress Oxide inks. (Ths faint shadows are from the screen on the window that provides the light.)

Layering Stencils

Although the layering doesn't show up as I planned, I used two stencils to create the background for October's CAS Mix Up card image: one of Tim Holtz's stencils and another with dots, both colored with Distress Oxide inks (orange marmalade and wild honey). The die is from Memory Box and the tiny stamped sentiment from Stampin' Up.

Tag Tuesday
I recently found a new blog challenge, Tag Tuesday. I used to participate in a couple of tag challenges years ago, and it was fun to put a decorative tag together again. The theme was "jewelry" so I used a lot of pearls.
Stencils, Prima Color Bloom spray and Glimmer Mist, a clip art image in a microscope slide frame, trim, Prima flowers with pearls, "Hope" sticker and a ribbon tie all came together for the end result.

It's Tuesday Again
This week's Tuesday cards feature a background created with Distress Inks (Cracked Pistachio and Abandoned Coral), water and a stencil. The great sentiment is from Technique Junkies Stamps, and the butterflies from Pink Paislee, inked with Cracked Pistachio. (I noticed the missing "i" on the first card after this post; it has been taken care of!)

Fun with Stencils
The Wednesday challenge on Simon Says Stamp involves stencils, something I have several of but never use! Today, I used some of them. I began with the Simon Says Diagonal Stripe and some Distress Inks on watercolor paper; then I die cut the flower with Sixxiz Flowers Layers w/Hearts Petals and layered it with a big patterned brad. For the card, I chose Tim's Honeycomb and Burlap stencils with the same Stormy Sky and Wild Honey inks. Then I stamped with an old SU! set, spritzed with Shimmer Goosebumps and finished off with tiny blue pearls on the stamped flowers.
