Faux Cloisonne

I think I learned this technique years ago, but haven't used it since.  I did find out that my stamp needed to be relatively full rather than a line image.  That way the "cloisonne" effect can cover most of the glossy color beneath.  This particular magazine page was an ad for Atlantis resorts in the Bahamas...an underwater scene that included sharks.  For the CAS Mix Up challenge, I chose a background DSP that looks like alcohol ink.

This is a beautiful faux cloisonné flower, Evelyn! You found a stamp with the perfect amount of detail and a beautiful background to place it on! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Mix Up!

I, too, am loving what you did with this. I remember this technique from ages ago and have tried it once. Not sure why I have not done more except forgetfulness. I like the stamp you chose, too. Now I have to go looking at magazines since I usually throw away after a bit. This does seem like fun.
I bought some AI looking patterned paper, too. Always looking for ideas.
Thank you.
Take care. Hope your son enjoys (enjoyed?) his visit.

I remember this technique from SCS many years ago. I loved it then and did try it. I'm happy to see it playing again. Your card is beautiful. The paper is amazing.

A lovely card to illustrate the technique. Also a great stamp which helps sell the Cloisonné illusion. Well done.
