The sentiment card truly reflects my experience with this technique, primarily because my stencils were too large and too narrow....which seems to be a contradiction in terms. Almost all my stencils are 6x6 Crafters Workshop stencils. When I picked the Valentine one for CAS Mix Up, I worked hard to adjust the image on the card front; the result was fine but it's not CAS. So I made a second one with the same stencil but cut down the card front. Still not CAS. Finally, I chose the single sentiment but struggled mightily to get the Versamark in that narrow space. The biggest problem in the whole project was my failure to do something basic: use an anti-static bag where I was going to emboss! I am a slow learner because it took 3 tries before I did what I was supposed to. So I have 3 Valentine cards, heat embossed with stencils. Only one is CAS.
These cards were embossed in burgundy and copper and the card front is layered on rose gold metallic.

I love how your sentiment fits your description of the process! Ultimately you have three fabulous cards and there's sure nothing wrong with that. I love all of them. CAS is not easy for me, especially when there are also certain parameters added. But, hey, that's why it's called a challenge, right? I find I'm learning to love stencils, though! Thanks for being our first player at CAS Mix Up this month, Evelyn!
I Love all 3 of your CAS Valentine's cards, Evelyn. Yes, I think all 3 of your cards are CAS enough, but...heh, now you have 3 Valentines for all your efforts. Because your 1st 2 cards had a lot of white open spaces they qualify in my mind to being CAS enough:-) I will say, I liked your last card the best:-) So pleased you joined us my friend and that you shared all 3 of your beauties. Love and Hugs...Nancy
I agree with Nancy, I think they are all CAS enough, but also your last is my favorite! That anti-static bag trick... still haven't tried it!:) Thanks for the reminder! Beautiful cards.
Love your sentiment and that you persevered and created a lovely CAS card! The other two are wonderful too and I'm sure will find good homes! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
Your CAS Valentine turned out beautifully Evelyn. I love the design with this sentiment. Your other two cards are also beautiful and now you have a good stash of love cards. :) Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
The sentiment may be complicated but the card is CAS! Love the embossing.
