A Feature on Our Creative Corner

(I scheduled this to post early this morning, but it didn't!)

My blogger friend, Sue at Scrumplescrunch, invited me to participate in one of the challenges at Our Creative Corner recently -a Sketch Challenge.  Create a masculine card following the sketch and optionally make it monochromatic.  My card (below left) was chosen as the winner!

That honor then led to an invitation to become a guest designer on Our Creative Corner's Top Talent Thursday today, November 1.  Wow!   I even answered some interview questions and made another card (except that I couldn't decide, so I made three cards).   Meanwhile, I entered another challenge called  Fall in the Circle, and was fortunate enough to have my "circle" creation chosen as winner.   So here I am, being featured on Our Creative Corner, a New Zealand blog.  There are so many great challenges available for crafters.   Thank you to the gracious ladies there!

Below are my cards:

Two sheets of Prima designer paper provides the color for this card.  The humorous image from American Art Stamps (artist Emerson Quillan no longer designs for AAS) is stamped on a background made of ink, water, and Perfect Pearls.  I love techniques. This is a square card, my favorite shape to use, although it requires extra postage in the US.  Black cardstock is the accent "color" on this card--probably my most common go-to accent.

Textured cardstock embossed in a folder is the color layer for this card; designer paper is used at the bottom, with a sentiment stamp from Wordsworth.  The flower is part of a Penny Black stamp "Cheerful" stamped twice on designer paper, cut out and popped on foam dots.  Martha Stewart adhesive pearls provide accents, along with a grosgrain ribbon.
Five different designer papers were used for another square card, with kraft and black cardstocks as the base.  The image is an Acey Deucy stamp.  All of my cards in this post have a ribbon accent from my many rolls and cards of ribbons and fibers. I love polka-dotted ribbons and have a whole range of colors to use.

Amazing...and well worth it.
I assume we can get to the interview sites through your links?
Great cards and super great that you participate and win. Well deserved.

Guess what--I found the link and read the interview. So cute. Glad to know that you are not "organized" too. My room is only clean when I put things away from last class--then within a minute, I am pulling out again and you can't even see the great desk of an old door like size my husband made for me. It quickly disappears under papers, inks and stamp pads.
At least you manage to find what you need and complete wonderful projects that you share. Bet the colors there are beautiful now for your photography, too.
