Challenging work with Stencil Monoprints

I prepared a post and then quickly deleted it when I remembered "CAS"!   That needs to be forefront in my mind when I start one of these challenges.  All afternoon, I've been working with stencils that just didn't cut it...for the CAS Mix Up challenge. My first one is by far my favorite, but there's nothing CAS about it.  A second one is messy, and the third one works!  What I can say is that I love techniques, and the stencil monoprint is definitely one that I will try again.

This one was created with Lindy's Magical Shaker colors...iridescent powders that are easily applied to a stencil and then misted.  (Thank you, Loll, for the idea with your Bister card! I had been struggling with applying ink on plastic stencils.)  I used a blue and green and trimmed the focus piece and die cut in dark Navy.

This is the messy one; the stencil is a music score but the shapes didn't transfer well with Distress Ink.

This is my absolute favorite...the first one I made (two tries with the stencil of aspens) with Weathered Wood and Iced Spruce Distress inks.  However, it is NOT CAS.  I used that stencil for the first time and that sentiment for the first time.  The card will be a good one to send to a friend.

OMG..Three Gorgeous Artsy stencil monoprint cards, Evelyn. I love your CAS 2nd card design that you added to our CAS Mix Up Stencil Monoprint Challenge:-) The dry embossed background and die cut stenciled image are beautiful. TFS all three of your beauties, my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy

This is a super fun and interesting technique and you got very good results with it! Your first is very clear with the Magicals (must get some of those), and it's perfectly CAS. I even like your messy and very artsy music score. I think it's possible that the particular plastic (?) of a stencil may make a difference, too, just like some clear stamps take ink better than others. Not sure, just guessing. Your aspens are incredible! Now I'm wondering what it looks like when done the regular (positive) way, because it looks amazing like this! The two ink colors are perfect. I'm sure glad you joined us at CAS Mix Up, Evelyn!

All three of your cards are awesome Evelyn. I love the CAS one that you've entered for our challenge. The stencil monoprint is such beautiful colours. Your second card is very artsy and wonderful. Your third is gorgeous. I love those colours with the aspen stencil ... just perfect combination. I will definitely give it a try as I have the same stencil and ink colours! :) Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

I've always had mixed results with the monoprint technique and I'm so impressed with yours! I love the shaded of blue and the shape you've cut from on the first card! Lots of texture in the background too! Your second card looks like mine usually do and your third is amazing! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
