It was a tragic beginning to the week with the news that a teacher, coach, athletic director at our local high school at died suddenly at the age of 43. He had been a student of mine when he was in high school, and I enjoyed seeing him in his adult role with young people. His mother is a friend of mine, too, and I used the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge to create a sympathy card.
It was my first use of Altenew's Leaf Canopy stamps and dies package.

Sorry to hear this news. As a teacher, I imagine you have seen your share of those who have passed away.
The card is elegant. I had my eye on this stamp. Lately, ferns, leaves, wildflowers seem to be used a lot and they can be used for such a sad occasion.
