CAS Watercolor Birthday with Bister

For the January CAS Watercolor challenge, I took on a challenge of my own...Bister.  I've watched videos, seen examples, tried and tried -- it's still an experiment each time. How much powder? How much water?  But I stuck with it. It didn't turn out to be as dramatic as I intended, but it works. And I was able to use the quirky sentiment from Penny Black for a different birthday message.  (Edit:  the sentiment is an Inkadinkado stamp, not Penny Black.  It is a Dawn Houser design.)

What a fun pattern of color, Evelyn! It's always fun to see what will happen when you put the water to the powder! Love this sentiment! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!

Bister is such an amazing product, love the dramatic simple background and that sentiment is perfect. I might have to hunt that one out :) Thanks for joining us at CAS Watercolour.

How fun and artsy, Evelyn. If you want any tips on Bisters I think our DT member, Christine does Bisters better than anyone I know. I still have them on my wishlist, but they are getting closer to the top of my list:-) I love how your card turned out and I think the quote and font of your sentiment is perfect. TFS my friend and joining us at CAS Watercolor. Hugs..

I've never tried bisters, but I would probably be frustrated by them. You ended up with a nice splash of watercolor that works perfectly with the sentiment. Just the right card stock mat and ink color on the sentiment to bring everything together. I dearly love that sentiment and it's got me thinking. Hmmm... how old would I be?
