Glitter, Glitter!

I've never been one for using glitter, but this was fun to complete the CAS Mix Up challenge for November.  I must admit that I actually made two cards, but realized that the first one didn't have any stamping...which is pretty basic!  Fortunately, I had made another glitter piece, so the second card went quickly.

My choice of glitter technique involved packing tape.  It works beautifully with die cuts.

I purchased SU's "Merry Little Christmas" DSP pack, and have been thinking of ways to use it.  I am certain that I was inspired by a creation sometime; that's why I ordered the paper.  Of course, I can't find it now. The intricate "Winterland Tree" is by Memory Box; the glitter is a chartreuse by Art Accentz.  The dry embossing adds some interest to the white space, and the tiny "joy" stamp (source unknown) works well.   (I'm also posting the first no-stamping card.  I now have 2 Christmas cards completed!)

Your sparkly tree is beautiful, Evelyn. Have not tried using packing tape and glitter. A great way to use loose glitter! The tree is elegant with the scroll design on top. Great texture with the dry embossed background. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

I'm always hesitant to use dry glitter because of the mess in applying it and the way it flakes off little bits afterward. However, sticky tape and burnishing face down is the very best method to insure it stays in place. Both cards are beautiful with all that green sparkle! The little bit of designer paper and embossing is a nice setting for your tree. I really should get some of my colored glitter out and go for this challenge. Hooray for getting at least two Christmas cards done!

I love both of these Evelyn, but the first one especially delights me with that beautiful glitter and all the white! I'm not one to use a lot of glitter either, but I'm finding I rather like playing with the sparkle! I hope to try the packing tape technique next. Or maybe the brass stencils...? Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
