The Winter Fairy Challenge
When I saw this Penny Black image months ago, I was so taken by it....but it didn't take me long to remember that I am handicapped when it comes to coloring! So I didn't use the stamp....until today. One of my great-nieces turns 11 today, and I know what it's like to have a birthday in December. She loves the color purple, too. I wanted to make a wintry card. Actually, I first stamped it on watercolor paper and used Twinkling H2O's....but it was a failure. I had also stamped the image on smooth cardstock, and then I started looking for samples of this image in the Penny Black gallery. SU watercolor markers were my choice of medium, and I used a blender pen (not a lot of help), and an aqua brush. I got the best results from scribbling the marker on an acrylic block and spritzing it with water. A glue pen made it possible to accent with fine glitter and even some "chunky" glitter from Martha Stewart. End result: I'm pleased. (I even photographed it on the old chair on my back porch....in 15-degree temperatures.)

Hello Evelyn
You may believe you are mentally challenged with colouring, but I am loving this little cutie, your G-neice is going to love it.
The image is fabulous.
Smiles:)

It turned out just adorable, Evelyn! I can see why you were taken with it. This is one of my favorite card styles -- a beautifully colored image and sentiment, nothing more to compete with the image. Wonderful card!
ohhhh check out the color...you are ready for 2014 for sure!!!
