Altered Pumpkin

I saw something on Pinterest about altering foam pumpkins.  Now I'm not a fan of Halloween or Halloween decor, but this was a project that I enjoyed.  The little pumpkin cost $1 at The Dollar Tree.  The first technique was to apply metal flashing tape to the pumpkin and then use Tim Holtz's "Riveted Patchwork" technique.  I changed that up by dry brushing some gold acrylic paint at the top of the pumpkin and then dusting with both gold and silver glitter.  I drew rough circles with Liquid Pearls and added the turquoise rhinestones and pearls.  The final product will go into an 18th birthday box for my great-niece, who just started college.  (I want to credit Shelly Hickox with the idea for using the Riveted Patchwork technique on a pumpkin, which she did with a fabulous steampunk pumpkin.)
