In lieu of Distress Markers

Today's lesson in Tim's Creative Chemistry 101 is all about Distress Markers, but I don't have any.   I don't think I plan to purchase any, either.   I have Stampin' Up markers, Marvy LePlume alcohol markers (waste of my money!), Faber-Castell big brush markers (haven't tried them yet), and several Copic markers (not enough in the right colors, of course!), so I'm NOT getting more markers.  It's a temptation, but buying new tools and supplies is always a temptation for me.  The card in today's post is a tissue-tape-and-chalk creation.    I covered the cardstock layer with Ranger tissue tape, stamped the Hero Arts poppies in Archival ink, and then sponged the flowers with chalk.

I know what you mean about not having the Distress Markers and not wanting to purchase yet another marker!
I do like the look you achieved with the tape and chalk. Very pretty, Evelyn!

Hello Evelyn
I think every card-maker feels the same way.... not more markers!!! But we buy them and like you say hardly use them, I fall into this category of being tempted too often by new things.
I do like this Technique very much, and it sounds quite easy the way you explain it, what I will ask however, do you need to seal the Chalk, or are you using liquid Chalk to colour?
Love this card Evelyn, and I am enjoying the daily posts re TH class, so thank you so much for sharing.
Smiles:)

This looks fab....love the effect and my thoughts exactly too....nooooo I am NOT buying ANYMORE markers. You would have to pay me to buy more markers. I have enough markers for a whole army to come over here and try their hand at Day 6....and I am sure these markers will suffice...that is when I find the time to even do the homework. I am glad I was not so lax in doing homework in real school:)

Oh my gosh..this is sooooo awesome. I am so glad to hear from you that you are not getting those markers. I totally agree. I keep buying pencils when I have 100's..
So-thanks for the instructions on this. And, yea!! I have the materials already and therefore, no need for me to rush to the store.
Great work. YOu are certainly getting your money's worth out of this new set of challenges.
Good for you. Can't wait for more.
