I changed my mind...

It's Tuesday, and I just finished my Grungy Monday entry.  Linda has challenged us to use one of Tim's 2008 techniques.  I tried it at least four times---with a tag, without a tag, on a piece of Tim's kraft stash cardstock, on a piece of manila folder.  When I completed a tag to my satisfaction, I just wasn't in the mood for the masculine look.   I started over by die-cutting a manila folder and using Tim's "Urban Chic" stamps, which I won on Linda's blog early in the Compendium of Curiosities challenges.   So, I have two Grungy Monday pieces this week. I much prefer the second one, but I didn't want to trash the first!

Welcome home Evelyn hope you had a good trip.
I agree with you I prefer and like your second creation.
It has a unique combination of colour/elements.
Nothing gives a non-verbal message better than colour and you have caught my attention much more with the second creation as opposed to the first,
having said this what maybe pleasing to one pair of eyes maybe unacceptable to another.
Smiles:)

Isn't it amazing all the different looks we can achieve with one technique? I agree - don't trash anything - these are both really nice and the second one has that added pop from your awesome colors.

I think both of these are wonderful Evelyn! I think I favor the second one a bit more because of that wonderful heart.

2 very different tags. I love them both. But my fave is the 2nd one - the colors are stunning.

Yup, the 2nd is my favorite, love the bright colors, but the first is also very nice! I'm in the same boat; finished my the other day, not sure, and may try a different one tonight.

I prefer the 2nd one as it is so much brighter but they are both great examples of the technique.

The 2nd tag is bold and stunning, the embossing looks great, but I have to say I am drawn more to the subtle colors of the first tag.

Evelyn, your creative process sounds a lot like mine! I actually like both these pieces a lot-- they compliment each other well and show the different effects you can achieve using Distress Ink. That said, the second piece just jumps right off the page-- SO gorgeous! Two GM pieces= double the fabulousness!
