Textured Fades and Distress Inks on Grungy Monday

Sir Tim makes these techniques look so easy!  For Grungy Monday, Linda  has challenged us to go back into the archives, when Tim Holtz demonstrated stamping on/in his Texture Fades with the open space.   I think his use of the darker inks makes a difference; when I tried some more 'colorful' shades, I didn't get the results I wanted.  Four or five tries later, I came up with this.   It's a Sizzix folder with butterflies on one side.   The flourish that I stamped didn't show up very well until I applied some Patina Stickles.

I think this came out fabulously!! I love the colors and textures! Thanks for the tip that this may require practice-he does make them look so easy! I rewatched the video just to see which side the sizzix labels were on so I could try to get mine right side up-so to speak! LOL!

Love your paper art! Before I began digital photography, I was into creating note cards with lovely papers, rubber stamps, dry and wet embossing. Then I became addicted to Photoshop Elements!

Well it makes one feel so good when you hear that other people have projects that do not work or are unsatisfactory, I constantly throw away mistakes, but I try to keep positive and look at it as a learning experience Evelyn,
I appear to be a slow learner!!!!!!
I think your card is lovely, I can see what you mean about the flourish though, it is probably better IRL.

Evelyn, this is wonderful-- worth all five tries (for the record, it usually takes me at least six or eight). The colors are beautiful and soft, and work beautifully with the sweet photo.

TIm really does make everything look easy, doesn't he??
