A Second Smoosh

I've already done one card for this CAS Mix Up challenge, but my "choice" was only layering a complementary color of cardstock.  Today, I decided to "smoosh" alcohol inks for another card.  This is a technique I used to do frequently; I have every alcohol ink color Tim Holtz and Ranger designed. Something else I decided to do -- inspired by the dramatic ink colors -- was to use one of my many "face" stamps. Years ago, I made cards that would probably be considered "edgy" and my face stamp collection grew in number. However, they've been languishing in a drawer for a long time.

For the background, I mixed Mermaid, Aqua and Wild Plum with silver mixative and alcohol blending solution on a craft mat and then "smooshed" a piece of Yupo paper.   The stamp is an old Tin Can Mail image from Inkadinkao and the "dream" is a Penny Black die.  (I did discover that inked Yupo doesn't hold up well to a heat gun when trying to dry stamping.)

My card features stamping, smooshing, and a die cut.

Hello up there.
I am always excited to see your postings because you have such a variety.
I love using Alcohol inks, too. Seem to get something special every time. did the watercolor, another favorite of mine. usual, your elegant just paper and stamp or die and you create another beauty. Great work and love them.
I still plod along, seeking ideas.
Hope Rod is enjoying retirement and keeping busy. And, with baby on way, you all are getting excited.

Wow...Gorgeous smooshed alcohol ink background Evelyn. I love your color choices and your stamped serene and dreamy face image. I have discovered even if I use Archival ink to stamp on Yupo and wait for it to dry I have to blot several times with a paper towel or scratch paper and even then...might need to add a light touch with a heat tool to make sure it is dry and then double check by dabbing with a paper towel. I hate accidently smearing a sentiment or image and usually with my hand or a finger. One thing I really like about the SU heat tool is that it has a low and high heat setting. I always use the low setting on yupo or if you do not have a low setting just hold your heat tool farther away and do not heat too long. Sorry about the lengthy tip.

So glad you added another card to our CAS Mix Up Challenge my friend. Hugs, nancy

The colours are amazing from your AI smooshed background, Evelyn. I love how they flowed to provide bands of colour. That face stamp is amazing and the dream stamp is just perfect for this dreamy card. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
