Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas

This is a new challenge for me, and I'm not convinced that I'll finish the course, but I'm starting!  Linda of Funkie Junkie created a dream of a jumbo tag for the initial challenge. I don't do shabby chic very often, although I do admire it.  The creamy, dreamy colors of Linda's tag, plus the "frilly" embellishments were my inspiration.  I used the same Marbled Stains technique from Tim Holtz, with Picket Fence and Brushed Pewter Metallic Stain to begin with.  However, the pewter just didn't show up very well, so I added some Tarnished Brass stain.   I then stamped a snowflake background (Peddler's Pack) and heat-embossed it with    Champagne Moire embossing powder from my EP stash.  The diecut ornament is a Memory Box die and "Noel" is a Sizzlits die; I cut them from a leftover piece of glossy cardstock.  (Attaching these pieces to the tag was the most difficult step of all:  the tag wouldn't straighten after all the applications, and I used spray adhesive on the pieces by putting each one in a lined wastebasket and spraying it.)  The lace and ribbon lace are from Funkie Junkie Boutique and the pearls are from Martha Stewart.

Hi Evelyn,

I'm so excited that you decided to play along with the Christmas tags this year! And look at this gorgeous tag for your first entry. I love the pale colors - your marbled stain BG is sensational and that ornament die cut is absolutely amazing. And of course, I love seeing what artists make with products they purchase from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

I'll be back to my shabby vintage next week. The metal grunge was just a fun departure to give you all a little twist on the inspiration. And of course, your #2 tag doesn't have to be grunged up one bit. Can't wait to see what you make for that one.

Welcome aboard TFJ 12 Tags challenge!

Hugs,
Linda
